EPPING, N.H. -- It was a tough two days for Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team at Star Speedway. Competing in the third round of the Tri Track Open Modified Series season, Rameau struggled with the handling of the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine, starting with practice on Friday, and rolling into Saturday’s race day. Rameau wasn’t able to qualify through the heat races, but received a Tri Track provisional as a past winner during the 2021 season. He started the race back in 27th position, and improved on his spot early in the race, but wasn’t able to finish following an accident in turn one in the late stages. However, the team put forth a terrific effort against 40 of the top Modified drivers in the Northeast in one of the highest paying races in the history of Star Speedway and the Tri Track Open Modified Series. “We had a tough day but I can’t thank all of my guys enough for their hard work over the two days at Star,” Rameau said. “Looking forward to trying to improve at the next race.” Sam Rameau will return to the track with the Tri Track Open Modified Series on Saturday, August 14, back at Monadnock Speedway, where Rameau won in May. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- With two of the six races already completed in the Tri Track Open Modified Series season, Sam Rameau will return to the track this Saturday, July 24, at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire. Set for the prestigious 10th annual SBM 125, Rameau will drive the No. 06 machine in his attempt to pocket the $6,000 winning prize and gain back the points lead on the Tri Track circuit. Rameau won the Tri Track Open Modified Series season-opener at Monadnock Speedway on May 1, and when the series visited Star on May 22, he finished 12th. This time, the Westminster, Massachusetts, driver is hoping to advance his position and become a major contender to win one of the top Modified races of the year. The event has a purse of over $66,000, with multiple bonus awards on the line. “Tri Track is our main focus,” Rameau said. “I think we will have a good shot to win at Star, and anywhere the Tri Track Series goes this season. I think we will be in good shape when we get there.” The schedule for Saturday’s events includes one practice session from 1:30-2:30 p.m., with qualifying heat races set to begin just after 3:30 p.m. The estimated start time for the Tri Track feature is 6:30 p.m., but subject to change. All tickets will be available at the gate, and for those who can’t make it to the track, Speed51.TV will have live coverage of the race. LOUDON, N.H. -- It wasn’t the exact day that Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team were looking for at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but Rameau drove the car to a solid 12th place finish in the Whelen 100 on Saturday, July 17. In just his second NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour start of the season, Rameau struggled with power under the hood throughout the day, going a lap down in the middle of the race. However -- with the assistance of a timely lucky dog -- Rameau got back on the lead lap and charged to a solid 12th place finish in the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine. The team worked hard all day and Rameau rewarded them with a strong finish in the field of nearly 30 cars. “We struggled big time in practice with a carburetor issue this morning,” Rameau said. “We overcame that issue, but the car handled well all day. We think something might be up with the motor -- I just think it’s a bit tired. It’s time for a new one. We look forward to getting to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on August 21 for our next NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race. It’s a good day when you come out of these shows in one piece and we did that today.” Sam Rameau will return to the track on Saturday, July 24, with the Tri Track Open Modified Series at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire. He currently sits second in their championship standings with one victory early in the season. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team are heading to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend with one goal in mind: winning. Rameau will drive the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine in Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Whelen 100, one of the most anticipated races of the year on the Modified calendar. The race often produces tight packs, a drafting style of action, and a thrilling finish that keeps fans on the edge of their seats as part of a full weekend of racing at the 1.058-mile oval. It will be the second Whelen Modified Tour start of the season for Rameau, who is hoping to be in the right position late in the race and have a chance to win. “We’re definitely not in the points battle, so we’re going there with the mindset of winning and doing all we can to get the win in what I consider the most prestigious race of the year,” Rameau said. “This one is the hardest to win on the schedule. We are fully prepared and ready to face whatever we have to face in order to try and win. Loudon is a different animal. It was nothing I was used to dealing with before… I’m ready for some drafting and superspeedway style racing. This is a huge race for my team.” In three previous NASCAR Modified starts at the ‘Magic Mile’ of New Hampshire, Rameau has a career best finish of 12th. In the Open Modified race at New Hampshire earlier this year, Rameau finished inside the top-10. Saturday’s race day schedule includes one practice session from 10-11 a.m., followed by Mayhew Tools pole qualifying at 11:30 a.m. The green flag for the Whelen 100 is set to drop at 12:45 p.m., with the race airing to a live audience on NBC Sports Gold through TrackPass. Tickets will also be available at the gate for anyone who wants to head out to the track and watch the action in person.
