WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau will be ready to rock on Memorial Day weekend with a doubleheader in New England Modified racing that fans will not want to miss. Saturday, Rameau will race in his second NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Lee USA Speedway, the Granite State Derby. On Sunday, Rameau will make his Bob Horn Racing debut in the No. 50 during the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series season-opener at Thunder Road International Speedbowl.
During Saturday's Whelen Modified Tour race at Lee, all cars will carry a roof decal with a fallen hero on their ride for Memorial Day weekend. Rameau will have Captain Ross A. Reynolds, United States Marine Corp, on the roof of the No. 06. Reynolds was a MV-22B Osprey Pilot with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 261. He passed away in 2022 as a result of injuries sustained when his Osprey aircraft went down in the Arctic Circle in Norway. Rameau and the entire Rameau Family Motorsports team are honored to carry his name in the quest for Victory Lane. "We're honored to have Captain Ross A. Reynolds on the car for Lee during what will be a special event," Rameau said. "As we celebrate Memorial Day, we must remember all of those who have lost their lives serving this country and also all of those who are currently serving and their families. We are excited for both races. We've always run well at Lee -- winning in the Crate Modifieds there last year. Working with Bob Horn, such a true professional, and his dedicated team at Thunder Road will also be an honor. Really looking forward to a busy weekend of racing and hoping to come away with two strong runs." Saturday's racing at Lee includes practice, qualifying and the 175-lap Granite State Derby race. The main event is scheduled to go green at 7:45 p.m., live on FloRacing.TV. On Sunday, Rameau's trip to Vermont includes a morning practice session at Thunder Road and a tire scuff session. Heat races will begin at 1:30 p.m. with features to follow. The Tri-Track main event is set for 100 laps and will also air live on FloRacing.TV.
