WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team are heading to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend with one goal in mind: winning. Rameau will drive the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine in Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Whelen 100, one of the most anticipated races of the year on the Modified calendar. The race often produces tight packs, a drafting style of action, and a thrilling finish that keeps fans on the edge of their seats as part of a full weekend of racing at the 1.058-mile oval. It will be the second Whelen Modified Tour start of the season for Rameau, who is hoping to be in the right position late in the race and have a chance to win. “We’re definitely not in the points battle, so we’re going there with the mindset of winning and doing all we can to get the win in what I consider the most prestigious race of the year,” Rameau said. “This one is the hardest to win on the schedule. We are fully prepared and ready to face whatever we have to face in order to try and win. Loudon is a different animal. It was nothing I was used to dealing with before… I’m ready for some drafting and superspeedway style racing. This is a huge race for my team.” In three previous NASCAR Modified starts at the ‘Magic Mile’ of New Hampshire, Rameau has a career best finish of 12th. In the Open Modified race at New Hampshire earlier this year, Rameau finished inside the top-10. Saturday’s race day schedule includes one practice session from 10-11 a.m., followed by Mayhew Tools pole qualifying at 11:30 a.m. The green flag for the Whelen 100 is set to drop at 12:45 p.m., with the race airing to a live audience on NBC Sports Gold through TrackPass. Tickets will also be available at the gate for anyone who wants to head out to the track and watch the action in person. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- After over a month off from competition, Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team are ready to chase a $10,000 check as part of a mid-week special on Wednesday, June 30. Competing in round three of the Tri Track Open Modified Series season, Rameau will drive the No. 06 Modified at Seekonk Speedway in their annual Open Wheel Wednesday event -- this year sponsored by Speed51.TV with Modified Madness. In the first two races of the Tri Track season, Rameau had a victory at Monadnock Speedway on May 1 and a 12th-place effort at Star Speedway on May 22. Rameau enters the Seekonk event just eight points behind leader Ron Silk with a goal of scoring the championship with Tri Track this season. “We’ve had plenty of time to prepare the cars and get everything ready for this race,” Rameau said. “Hopefully, we can go to Seekonk and come out with the points lead and maintain our goal of winning the championship. The $10,000 check would be great -- but I’d rather chase that big trophy and get the championship.” In total, Rameau has run five races this season to date, with three finishes inside the top-10. Practice for Tri Track teams will be one-hour, lasting from 3:45-4:45 p.m., while qualifying heat races will begin at 6:30 p.m., kicking off a full night of racing action. The Tri Track Open Modified Series will run heats, two consi races, and the 100-lap feature that will conclude the night. The 350 SMAC Supermodifieds and the NEMA Lites will also join the show. General admission grandstand tickets are $30 for adults, with children 6-12 years old set at $10. Any kids five and under can enter the grandstands for free. EPPING, N.H. -- After a busy weekend at Star Speedway, Sam Rameau drove the Rameau Family Motorsports machine to a 12th place finish in the Tri Track Open Modified Series 100 on Saturday, May 22. Rameau finished fourth in his qualifying heat, and ran inside and around the top-15 for much of the race. It wasn't the finish that the team wanted, but Rameau maintains second in the championship standings, just eight points off the lead, with four races remaining. “I was just really loose the whole time,” Rameau said. “The front of the car was so overpowered… we tried so hard to get the rear planted, but just couldn’t get it right. We’re going to go home, put it on the scales, evaluate what was wrong, and go to Seekonk Speedway with a better package.” Rameau now will take over a month off from racing and compete next with Tri Track at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, June 30, for their annual $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday. Without partners like Central Mass Tree, Central Mass Truck & Equipment, Powell Stone and Gravel, Champeau Lumber, Flamingo Motorsports, Dennison Lubricants, CJ Logging Equipment, KG Coatings, AutoPlus, New England Truck & Auto Recyclers, All Phases Renovations, Performance Engines by Billy the Kid, Liberty Supply, WC Designs, Akin Automotive, MAC Tools, Waddell Communications, Frosted Frog and Schofield Power Equipment, competition wouldn't be possible. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team are one-for-one so far with the Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations in 2021. On Saturday, May 1, Rameau pocketed a $6,000 check by winning the season-opener at Monadnock Speedway. Now, he looks to make it two-for-two. Rameau is set to compete in the Prelude to SBM X at Star Speedway on Saturday, May 22 -- the second race of the Tri Track season. Rameau may have previously struggled at Star -- but the Westminster, Massachusetts, rising Modified star is riding a wave of confidence and momentum and hopes to maintain his lead in the series point standings. “Star is a fun track but we need some work there,” Rameau said. “We need to improve. The last time we went there we went in blindfolded… but my crew chief Russ Hersey has plenty of experience there, so we’re looking forward to going back. I want to win the Tri Track championship this year. Even if it doesn’t go our way on Saturday, we need every position and every point possible.” The schedule for the day includes one practice session from 11:50-12:50 p.m., with qualifying heat races set to go green at 2:30 p.m. The feature race is estimated to take the green flag around 6 p.m. and will air live on Speed51.TV for those who can’t make it to the track. Without partners like Central Mass Tree, Central Mass Truck & Equipment, Powell Stone and Gravel, Champeau Lumber, Flamingo Motorsports, Dennison Lubricants, CJ Logging Equipment, KG Coatings, AutoPlus, New England Truck & Auto Recyclers, All Phases Renovations, Performance Engines by Billy the Kid, Liberty Supply, WC Designs, Akin Automotive, MAC Tools, Waddell Communications, Frosted Frog and Schofield Power Equipment, competition wouldn't be possible. WINCHESTER, N.H. — Sam Rameau dominated early, restarted deep in the field after a pit stop, drove to the front, made a pass for the lead, and rolled to Victory Lane. The Westminster, Massachusetts, native, and driver for Rameau Family Motorsports, was victorious in the season-opener for the Tri Track Open Modified Series presented by All Phases Renovations at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, May 1. In the Wonder Casino 100, Rameau made a late pass on Ron Silk to score the $6,000 winning check — besting more than 30 cars that showed up to the Winchester, New Hampshire oval. Silk crossed the line second, with defending series champion Matt Hirschman third. Rameau pitted from the lead, along with the rest of the field, during a caution period just after halfway. He restarted outside the top-15 and his chances of winning at that point appeared slim. But the rising Modified talent worked his way to the front. “I was just going at my own pace early, and we came in and I’m not going to lie, I was really nervous over the radio,” Rameau said. “With 40 laps to go, I said there was no way we were winning the race. The car just rolled the outside great. We all come here for the same reason. It’s really cool. I just really can’t thank my guys enough. They do a great job.” Sam Rameau returns to the track on Saturday, May 22, at Star Speedway in New Hampshire for the second round of the Tri Track Open Modified Series. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- The last time Sam Rameau competed at Monadnock Speedway, he left carrying a $6,000 check from the Tri Track Open Modified Series. This Saturday, May 1, Rameau returns to the high-banks looking to take home another $6,000 prize in the season-opener for Tri Track -- the Wonder Casino 100. “It’s definitely exciting,” Rameau said, “It’s good to be going back there with confidence, knowing that we have been able to do it there before. There will be a bunch of family and friends at the track, even my friends from school. It’s good to be the hometown kid… most of the people there who will be watching the race watched my dad race there when I was kid and I like to think most will be cheering for me. I love going there. It’s a good atmosphere.” Rameau is one of more than 35 cars expected to compete in the Tri Track opener, which will include quite the competitive field of Modified talent. In Rameau’s first three races of the 2021 season, he has two top-10 finishes, including a sixth-place effort in the debut of the Outlaw Open Modified Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 10. Following Monadnock, the team will begin preparation for the second Tri Track race of the season at Star Speedway on May 22. Saturday’s Tri Track race day includes practice from 2-3 p.m., followed by qualifying heats at 5 p.m., with consi racing and the feature to follow. The 100-lap race will air to a live audience on Speed51.TV. Live updates from the track can be found on the Rameau Family Motorsports Facebook page. LOUDON, N.H. -- Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team salvaged an eighth-place finish out of a difficult weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on April 18. Following carburetor issues in Saturday's practice rounds, the team went to work, got the car prepared, and started the 50-lap Open Modified feature in ninth position. The race was part of the inaugural Northeast Classic, promoted by the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Star Series at the 'Magic Mile' of New Hampshire. The race didn't play into the hands of Rameau, but he was able to wheel the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine around to the finish inside the top-10 and load the car in the trailer in one piece. "Just fought the handling during the whole day and really never got it where we needed it here at New Hampshire," Rameau said. "Thank you to our great partners for their support. We look forward to getting to the next race and trying to rebound." Next up for Sam Rameau is a trip to Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, May 1 -- which marks the quest for a $6,000 winning check with the Tri Track Open Modified Series. Rameau went to Victory Lane in the most recent Tri Track race at Monadnock last August. For more information on Sam Rameau, visit SammyRameau.com and follow Rameau Family Motorsports on Facebook. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Race three of the season for Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team will come with a chance for a big payday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 18. With $5,000 on the line in the inaugural Northeast Classic Tour-Type Modified 50-lap feature, Rameau is looking forward to heading back to the 1.058-mile oval to attempt to score one of the biggest wins of his career. Rameau and the team are coming off a solid sixth-place finish in the Icebreaker 125 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 10. New Hampshire is known for a drafting-style of racing that keeps fans on the edge of their seats, and with no restrictor plates required for this special event, speed and steam will be key factors in deciding the winner. “I think we will have somewhat of an advantage going into New Hampshire using what we have learned from Thompson,” Sam Rameau said. “I think we will be good up there. It’s going to be a big motor race, whoever has the best motor, and the best crew, is probably going to be the one in Victory Lane. Thanks to all of our supporters for making this trip possible.” In previous starts at New Hampshire, which came with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Rameau had a best finish of 12th. He will be up against some of the top contenders in the Modified ranks including the likes of Bobby Santos III, Eric Goodale, Craig Lutz and more. Racing begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning with qualifying heat races and will be followed by feature racing around 1:30 p.m. Tickets for general admission are $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $50 for Sunday only or $75 for both days. All tickets and pit passes will be sold at the track. For those who can’t attend, Speed51.TV is offering PPV coverage of the entire day, including the Tour-Type Modifieds, Pro All Star Series Supers Late Models, American-Canadian Tour Late Models and more. THOMPSON, Conn. -- Sam Rameau wrapped a busy week of competition for the Rameau Family Motorsports team with a sixth-place finish on Saturday night, April 10, at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. Rameau scored the top-10 run by driving the No. 06 Central Mass Tree machine back to the front after pitting late in the race for fresh tires. He was running second, pressuring leader Ronnie Williams on a caution with just over 30 laps to go, and was optimistic about what would have happened if it stayed green from there to the end. "If the caution didn't come out, I think we had a good shot to win the race," Rameau said. "I was faster than the No. 25 (Ronnie Williams) at that point, but was pushing him to push his stuff because I knew he had some older tires. I was planning to move within the next five or so laps. But that's just racing. All in all it was a good day." Rameau's trip to Thompson came off the heels of a disappointing effort in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour opener at Martinsville Speedway on April 8. After high hopes, Rameau suffered a broken axle on his Modified and was sidelined with a 32nd place finish. The experience of visiting Martinsville and taking laps around one of NASCAR's most historic tracks was still worth it for the Westminster, Massachusetts, native. "It was the coolest thing to say that I raced with NASCAR Cup Series drivers Ryan Preece and Ryan Newman, at that track, that I'm able to watch on TV," Rameau said. "The whole experience of Martinsville was great. The car was really good -- I think it would have been really good on the long run. But just cut short on a mechanical issue none of us can control." "I can't thank all of our crew, sponsors and supporters enough for everything they have done in the last week. We can't wait for the next race." Up next for Sam Rameau and Rameau Family Motorsports is a trip to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 17, for a 50-lap Tour-Type Modified race worth $5,000 to win. The race will air to a live audience on Speed51.TV via a pay-per-view. WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau and Rameau Family Motorsports are about to get down to business quickly with their 2021 season. It will begin with three races in the span of 10 days, starting with the opener of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Thursday, April 8, at Martinsville Speedway. Following a trip to Virginia, the team will travel back to New England to compete in the debut race for the Outlaw Open Modified Series on Sunday, April 11 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, worth $10,000 to the winner. "It's going to be busy for sure," driver Sam Rameau said. "The preparation that goes into all of it is surreal. I'm comfortable saying that with the hours my guys have put in inside the shop, we are comfortable for whatever is going to come our way this week." Martinsville Speedway, a track filled with NASCAR history, will play host to the Whelen Modified Tour for the first time since 2010. Rameau has never taken laps around the .526-mile paved oval, but knows the prestige that surrounds the track and the upcoming Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 200. He hopes to park the No. 06 in Victory Lane and bring home the familiar grandfather clock that Martinsville offers as a trophy. "It's probably the most prestigious race I have ever run other than the Musket 250 at New Hampshire," Rameau said. "The team has been putting in 80 hours per week. Going to these races on the Whelen Modified Tour, we are going to take what we can get. We aren't going there to finish second. To win a grandfather clock... I would do anything for it. With the Modifieds going back there, and the people that have won there before... whoever wins this race did a good job as a driver and has a good team behind them." The Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 200 will air to a live audience on NBC Sports Gold "TrackPass" at 8 p.m. on Thursday night. After 200 long laps in Virginia, Rameau will travel home approximately 11 hours and plans to compete over the weekend at Thompson in Connecticut. With the folks from the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Star Series leasing the track for the season, Thompson will host the debut of the Outlaw Open Modified Series on Sunday, April 11. The race is 125 green flag laps and worth $10,000 to the race winner. Rameau has plenty of experience on Thompson's high-banks from running with the Whelen Modified Tour. "My father and I sat down and we said at the beginning of the year that we were going to do three Whelen Modified Tour races, the six Tri Track Open Modified Series races and we decided we were going to do Thompson," Rameau said. "Without my guys working so hard at the shop, none of this would happen. We have some amazing sponsors that are back with us and a few more joining as new sponsors for the year. The preparation has been surreal. We will be ready." Fans can watch Rameau compete at Thompson by visiting Speed51.TV and purchasing their pay-per-view option for Sunday, April 11. The Outlaw Open Modified Series will qualify and race on Sunday. For more information on Rameau Family Motorsports, visit sammyrameau.com and follow Rameau Family Motorsports on Facebook.
