WESTMINSTER, Mass. -- Sam Rameau and the Rameau Family Motorsports team are taking a trip south this weekend. The team will bring the No. 06 Central Mass Tree Modified to North Wilkesboro Speedway, one of the most historic short-tracks in the country, on Saturday, September 30 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 150.
North Wilkesboro Speedway had been closed down for many years before a team, including NASCAR Cup Series Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., revived the track and brought racing back to life in the North Carolina community. The NASCAR Cup Series All-Star race took place there earlier this season, and now, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make their debut at the track on Saturday. In three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events this season, Rameau has finished sixth or better in all of them. The team is excited for the challenge of North Wilkesboro - a track that will require saving tires, a strong pit strategy and a fast car to get to Victory Lane on Saturday night. On Sunday, Rameau will be racing with the SMART Modified Tour at Motor Mile Speedway. As one of the racing divisions in the Modified landscape, the SMART Modified Tour has drawn impressive car counts this season. Rameau and the team are excited to try a new track with a different group of competitors. Fans can watch both events this weekend live on FloRacing.TV. Fans can also follow Rameau Family Motorsports on Facebook for updates from the track when available.
